None of us knowingly want to expose ourselves, children, employees or pets to poisons or toxic chemicals. Guess what...If you clean with common household cleaners, or you are exposed to pesticides, then you probably are!

TOXIC FACTS

In 1989, the EPA determined the "toxic" chemicals found in common household cleaners, often dispersed in fumes, are 3 times more likely to cause cancer than are other air pollutants.

US EPA considers all antimicrobials as pesticides; pesticides can be found in disinfectants and sanitizers and must be registered with the EPA.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission identified Over 150 chemicals commonly found in homes have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological abnormalities, and concluded that cleaning products are some of the most dangerous substances in the home.

Household Cleaning Products are perhaps amongst the most toxic chemical products stored in the average house. Many products contain pesticidal and toxic ingredients that can be harmful to humans, animals, or the environment.

Many products on the shelves today claim to be safe or natural yet have warning labels. The words caution, warning and dangerous indicates the product's ingredients are harmful!

Every year, five to 10 million household poisonings are reported many are fatal. The majority of the
victims are children.

Effects of these toxic chemicals
include: illness, allergies, asthma, ear infections, learning disabilities, nervous disorders, respiratory difficulties and more.

Janitorial workers experience relatively high injury rates, many of which are due to the toxic chemicals found in cleaning products.

Pesticides Toxic Facts - Lawns, Gardens, Golf Courses

Washington Reuters
reported, People with long term, low level exposure to pesticides have a 70 percent higher incidence of Parkinson's disease than people who have not been exposed to bug sprays. Their study supports previous research that suggests pesticides can be linked with Parkinson's, which is caused by the destruction of key brain cells, the team at the Harvard School of Public Health said.

Lawn Care Services- Approximately 3.4 million residential and commercial customers use a well known lawn service company. The customers are offered a lawn care plan which is usually a heavy dose of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.  Many customers are unaware that this method of lawn care threatens their health, their children's health and their pet's health!

A USEPA study found that residues from outdoor pesticides are tracked inside by pets and people's shoes. These pesticides will persist for years indoors because they are sheltered from sun rain, and other forces that can not degrade them.

A National Cancer Institute study states that, "Although research is underway to characterize the risks of childhood cancer associated with pesticides and identify the specific pesticides responsible, it is prudent to reduce or, where possible, eliminate pesticide exposure to children, given their increased vulnerability and susceptibility. In particular, efforts should be focused to reduce exposure to pesticides used in homes and gardens and on lawns and public lands, which are major sources of exposure for most children."

Fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides create weak, dependant lawns with shallow roots, weeds that compete and win, dead soil with no worms or tilth, and poisoned run-off into our water supplies, lakes, ponds and oceans.

Golf Courses are beginning to understand, less is better when it comes to chemicals and grass.

This is a small list to what facts and stories are out there!

What are Petrochemicals?
Most household and commercially purchased cleaning products are "petrochemically" derived or "synthetic". These types of products are literally made from crude petroleum oil.  As our use of these cleaners in homes, schools, and workplaces has grown over the past 60 years, the incidence of diseases like cancer and asthma has grown dramatically as well, and many experts see a clear connection between the two.

Synthetic chemicals are antagonistic to natural cells. Ordinary cleaning chemicals are believed to cause problems such as fatigue, joint pain, shortness of breath, sore throat, allergies, itching, weakened immune systems, failing eyesight, heart disease and other degenerative diseases, including premature death usually associated with aging.

Why should you use GO BioBased Cleaners?
